With the success of the two Jurassic Park movies, a third one was inevitable. But, they had planned on doing a direct to video one, but later found out that a third one would be more successful if shown in theaters. This time around Steven Spielberg has bowed out of the directors chair and given it to Jumanji's Joe Johnston.
In this Jurassic Park, Dr. Grant (Sam Neil) returns to accompany the parents who lost their kid over an island, during a hang gliding trip.
Don't worry, I won't give away any of the excitement in the movie. I found this Jurassic Park to be just as good as the first one, and WAY better than Lost World. The only hang-up in this movie was the end. The end really, really sucks! It's like they given up and had to rush the ending. Frankly, it's hokey!
Not counting the end credits, the movie runs, what seems to be a short, hour and a half. I felt like it should have been about twenty minutes longer. A lot of the action and dinosaurs are great. Even the scenes with the flying dinos are a nice welcome change. But, I also feel like it has lost some of the magic as far as suspense and terror.
Without saying who, I did like it when they brought back another lead person from part one.
All in all, I will say again, that this Jurassic Park is well worth it and almost as good as part one, but better than part two. While they are already talking part four and possibly going up to part six. I think nothing will beat the first one.
I would however like to see a Jurassic Park where they don't leave the island. That would be a nice change indeed!
