Kiss of the Dragon

Language, Violence
Directed by: Chris Nahon
Written by: Jet LI(story), Luc Besson
Starring: Jet Li, Bridget Fonda

The last time we saw Jet Li was in Romeo Must Die. Now he returns for more action and more kicks and is accompanied by the beautiful and talented Bridget Fonda.

In Kiss of the Dragon, Jet Li plays a Chinese intelligence officer who goes to Paris to help out another officer, only to be betrayed and embroiled in a deadly conspiracy.

Kiss of the Dragon does lack in story and consists of the numerous plot holes. Some of the action/fighting scenes are pretty decent. It was cool how the story was focused around Paris, but I felt there was something lacking. I did want to see more running around and fighting in the streets of Paris.

It was nice to see Bridget Fonda in the movie and did like her overall performance, I kind of felt like she was somewhat wasted and wished she had more accompanying time with Jet Li.

The story does come from Jet Li and is written by a very cool director; Luc Besson(Fifth Element). Who you can tell wrote the movie, but was expecting more knowing he wrote it.

Overall, Kiss of the Dragon is your basic kung-fu street fighting movie, without all the slow motion bullets and loads of explosions, but doesn't really please like it should. If your a serious Jet Li fan, then by all means, go see the movie. But if not, then save your money until Jurassic Park 3.
